Welcome to Relaxed Spider

Here are the details for this mode. Choose one suit, two suits or four suits using the game controls. The game still uses 104 cards in ten columns. Relaxed Spider on illinitaxi.com permits stock deals while columns are empty. The objective remains eight complete same-suit King-to-Ace runs.

The relaxed difference

The following details apply here. An empty column no longer prevents a stock deal in this variant. The relaxed stock rule does not change the rank requirement for ordinary moves. A stock card dealt to an empty column becomes that column's first face-up card. The relaxed stock rule does not allow mixed-suit groups to move together.

Read the opening

Only the bottom card of each opening column is face up. The opening tableau contains 54 cards. The first four columns have six cards each and the remaining six have five. The stock contains fifty cards for five later deals.

Descending rank placement

The following details apply here. An Ace cannot receive a lower-ranked card. A King needs an empty destination because no rank is higher. An exposed card may land on another exposed card exactly one rank higher. The two cards do not need to share a suit for a single-card placement.

Move a group

The following details apply here. A suit change can leave a smaller movable group at the bottom of a column. A descending group moves as a unit only when every selected card shares a suit. Same-suit building can reduce the work needed to separate mixed sequences later. A break in rank prevents the entire selected group from moving together.

Keep space available

Keep these points in mind. You may preserve an empty column until you decide to deal from the stock. Empty columns remain useful for separating temporary mixed builds. Any exposed card or legal same-suit group can occupy an empty column. A new stock row fills every empty column with one card.

Bring in another row

Here are the details for this mode. Dealing can block an existing sequence as well as reveal new combinations. You cannot direct an individual stock card to a chosen destination. A stock deal places one card onto each of the ten columns. Undo restores the previous arrangement when the stock-deal snapshot is available.

Collect matching runs

The following details apply here. The game removes a complete run automatically at the bottom of a column. Eight collected runs are required to finish Relaxed Spider. Changing the number of suits does not change the number of required runs. A complete run contains thirteen face-up cards in one suit from King to Ace.

Try another decision

Keep these points in mind. Replay restores the same shuffle for another attempt. Hints identify legal options without guaranteeing a win. Random relaxed deals are not presented as guaranteed solvable. New game creates a fresh shuffle in the selected suit setting.

Separate variant progress

Keep these points in mind. Relaxed Spider keeps its saved games separate from standard Spider when saving is enabled. My Statistics displays relaxed starts and wins in separate rows. Each relaxed suit setting has its own current local game. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you turn saving off or clear local records.
